Biography

Kate Ferreira is a freelance journalist and editor based in Johannesburg. She has worked in journalism -- and intermittently in communications -- since completing her degree at Rhodes University in 2005, including stints as the online editor of the Financial Mail and news editor of Grazia SA. She is a regular freelance contributor to the Financial Mail, Business Day, and Woman & Home magazine, among others. She is passionate about South Africa’s palaeoanthropological heritage, addressing inequality (economic and social), her native Eastern Cape, and women’s rights. She has a Masters in Journalism from Wits University, and is a first round Impact Africa grant recipient.
